[ CAN YOU BRIDGE THE PHYSICAL/DIGITAL DIVIDE USING THE LATEST AR TECH FROM YouAR? ]
Draw & Code have invited YouAR and Gaming Malta to set a challenge that is all about reimagining our relationship with mobile technology and the places we live, work and visit. The Maltaverse is Draw & Code and YouAR’s dynamism in wanting to create the first nationwide ‘real world metaverse’. With an aim to change how citizens and visitors of Malta interact with the space around them, we invite you to the challenge of connecting physical and digital spaces to build on an ‘open spatial web’.
In this two day hackathon you’ll work in teams of up to five people to create your own project on the theme of space and location using YouAR’s innovative technology. Their augmented reality software encourages new ways to create, share and discover the ever-evolving world around you and we want to see how you would approach experimenting with their kit using your own concepts.
The concept for your idea will be agreed before the hackathon. You will then have 48 hours to collaborate, prototype and execute an idea. We don’t expect you to be a software expert to take part, but the hackathon requires Unity development, UX design or game design skills to participate.
Come test out your skills, try out state-of-the-art tech and work in teams with people to create something exciting. You can join us in person and have the opportunity to win fantastic prizes.
We will be releasing presentations detailing D&C Labs and what we're currently up to in Malta on the Draw & Code Youtube channel at 6PM on Tuesday 17th January. We will be discussing the Hackathon in more detail, so get yourself a drink and tune in to find out more!
