Draw & Code is growing again, with our team expanding as seven talented hires join the studio. Muammar is a talented Senior Unity Developer, Kirsty arrives as a promising Junior Digital Designer, Georgia is an exciting new Junior 3D Artist, Calum is a creatively gifted Digital Designer, Rachael is a Digital Marketer apprentice with a flair for words and an eye for detail, the skilled Rich takes on the role of Senior 3D Artist and last-but-not-least Chris, a savvy Creative Production Designer.
After studying a games design diploma where she gained impressive skills in 2D illustration, UI and UX, 3D modelling as well as level design, Kirsty has joined the team as our impressive new Junior Digital Designer.
During her studies she’d heard about Draw & Code’s unique approach to AR and VR, so once her studies were complete, Kirsty joined the studio on a week-long work experience where she impressed us with designing the UI and UX of her own app idea. So when an appropriate job position opened up, we were thrilled when she applied to become a full-time member of the Draw & Code team. From her work experience time with us, Kirsty said:
“I was able to see first hand some of the projects Draw & Code worked on, which really appealed to me as they are very intriguing and constantly trying new ideas and approaches in the industry. Jobs in AR and VR are desirable as XR gains more popularity in the game industry as well as other industries, and Draw & Code know this and have a vision for creating exciting projects with it.”
Another new permanent addition to the team who is no stranger to us is our Middleweight Digital Designer, Calum. Similar to Kirsty, Calum joined us on a work experience when he was seventeen. He continued to successfully finish a year-long graphic design apprenticeship and build an impressive body of work and has returned to Draw & Code to bolster our design department
Georgia has joined the team as our new Junior 3D Artist. During her second year of studying animation at Nottingham Trent University, she was exposed to 3D look development projects and a client brief with Notts TV where she recreated a 3D replication of Nottingham Market Square in 1068 for their programme, ‘Rediscovering Notts’. Georgia’s newfound fascination with 3D encouraged her to learn everything she could. During her final year of university, Georgia worked on 3D look development, character and asset modelling and texturing to create a profound portfolio and is a fantastic talent we are thrilled to have on board.
Joining the team as our Senior 3D Artist is Rich, who came across Draw & Code when looking for studios that were pushing forward with emerging tech and working with ideas in new spaces such as VR, AR and live production. From his time of working with Draw & Code so far, Rich said:
“The kind of projects we work on allows me as an artist to grow, understand and develop new approaches to 3D art with a group of really intelligent and creative folk. You can really see the drive and passion for the team to grow and face challenges in this exciting space of design and tech.”
Rachael has joined the team as the new Digital Marketer Apprentice. During her English Language degree at Chester University, Rachael did marketing and PR internships in the theatre and live entertainment industry. When she saw the opportunity to work with Draw & Code and be part of a talented team pushing the boundaries of immersive tech, she knew it was the perfect fit.
Creative Production Designer Chris is an architecture graduate from The University of Liverpool. During his degree Chris was introduced to Draw & Code’s work through our collaboration on the St George’s Hall project. Having always been interested in the intersection of architecture and XR, Chris was inspired to learn about AR and integrate that into his architectural work, until eventually all his final year work was based on immersive technology. Chris explains;
“It is the blending of the real and digital that Draw & Code achieves that really drew me into the practice and the innovative ways that they use the technologies in ways I hadn’t seen before!”
Finally, also joining us on the team is our talented Senior Unity Developer, Muammar, whose passion and fascination for game development brought him to apply to Draw & Code. Excited about the prospects of game development in AR and VR, Muammar’s talent and skills have already been a boon to the studio as he takes to the most demanding projects with aplomb.
It’s an exciting time for Draw & Code with all this new talent on board. What’s more, we have new jobs in AR and VR opening soon. Keep an eye on our website and follow us on Twitter to find out when new technical, creative and production positions are live!
