Draw & Code Announce Two Key Hires

Draw & Code are thrilled to announce two key new hires. Brett Page, formerly of Hasbro, has joined the team as Head of Play while Becky Jones, previously producer on Angry Birds and Moshi Monsters, is taking on the role of Lead Producer.

With a renewed strategic focus on the family market, the XR experts here at Draw & Code are bolstering our knowledge of child-friendly games, connected play products and technology use in visitor attractions. The 17-strong team here in the studio are currently working hard on bringing SwapBots to market and working with the latest XR technology, including in our role as an official Magic Leap Creator.

Brett Page arrives from Hasbro where he was in charge of UK Commercial Strategy dealing with brands such as Star Wars and Transformers. Previous to his time at Hasbro, Brett was one of the first employees at Innocent Drinks, contributing to triple-digit growth in the sales team as the company went from start-up to corporate buyout. As Head of Play at Draw & Code he is being charged with seeking out opportunities in the connected-play space, handling creative IP licensing and masterminding a commercial go-to-market strategy for SwapBots.

Brett explains the rationale behind the move; “The opportunity to work with Draw & Code and SwapBots allows me to combine my experience of being part of a growing, agile company with my knowledge of the big players in the toy industry – it’s the best of both worlds.”

Another new recruit in the Draw & Code studio is Becky Jones, a producer whose credits include the original Angry Birds and Moshi Monsters’ first foray into mobile apps. Since being part of these innovative children’s digital projects, Becky has been working with place-making technology at the Future Cities Catapult and has extensive knowledge of mixed reality, becoming an enthusiastic early-adopter of Microsoft’s Hololens. The experience of children’s apps and the latest XR technologies makes her the ideal ‘product owner’ for SwapBots and Draw & Code’s client projects too.

Becky talks about being a key part of an XR-focused company, “As a believer in the world-changing potential of immersive technology, it is thrilling to find a studio environment here at Draw & Code that shares this belief and embraces the opportunities it offers, especially in the burgeoning family market.”

The team at Draw & Code embrace immersive technologies such as augmented reality and mixed reality, having faith in their continued growth, particularly in the family and visitor attraction markets.

Since the pair joined the company, Draw & Code have begun work on immersive installations for a new Mexican museum, joined mixed reality maven’s Magic Leap’s developer programme and welcomed over a million visitors to the immersive technology-infused Terracotta Warriors exhibition in Liverpool.
